Like others skin type, reasons can vary: genetics, age (skin ageing causes skin dryness), hormonals changes, particular meteorological conditions (wind-sun-cold), excessive sun exposition or to tanning lamps, medications and at last, but not less dangerous, the use of too aggessive cosmetic products.

The result?

Skin reduces its defenses and its damaged exterior natural barrier doesn’t hold the water as it should do, making the skin dry and tight.

The skin needs to be repaired to boost the cell turnover with nourishing oils and rich of fats to strengthen it deeply and giving it the necessary humidity.

Cleanser

With this skin type, detersion it’s a beauty routine step that you should do only once a day, in the evening, using gentle natural products, avoiding aggressive ingredients like surfactant (SLS, SLES) and synthetic fragrances.
Use cleansers oils or cream cleansers, which include natural hydration factors to nourish the skin.
Make a proper use of tab water that, with a 7 alkaline pH, can cause dryness. Avoid excessively long washes and with too hot water.

Moisturize

The loss of hydration it’s the first symptom of dry skin.
To restore the natural skin pH (between 4,2 and 5,5) it’s better focusing on rich moistorizing creams which have natural actives ingredients, so elements added to do a specific function, for example:

Such as in sensitive skin, avoid the practice of aggressive physical exfoliants such as facial scrubs and exfoliation beauty tools. Choose a chemical exfoliant (AHA) based on fruit acids.

Dehydration and smoke can dry the skin. Drink at least 1,5 L of water per day and don’t smoke. These factors will make the difference against skin dryness . The beauty of the skin starts from the inside!
